Mozilla’s WebXR Viewer is an augmented reality (AR) viewer designed specifically for developers seeking to create and test web-based AR applications on iOS. Please note that this product is not officially supported by Mozilla.
WebXR is a versatile cross-platform Web API that enables developers to create augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences. With the release of the WebXR Viewer, web developers now have the opportunity to experiment with AR experiences on iOS using WebXR. It also serves as a platform for gathering valuable feedback from the WebXR community as they continue to enhance AR support in the WebXR specification.
The WebXR Viewer implements a range of accepted and proposed WebXR AR API features, in addition to supporting some non-standard features that were developed for an earlier version of the WebXR API.
Version 2 of the WebXR Viewer is built upon the highly-functional Firefox for iOS source code, providing users with a comprehensive web browser experience. While some features, such as account sync, are fully functional, others like send-to-device are still under development.
